Hello Gruffalo: Augmented Reality Fun for Kids
Hello Gruffalo is an augmented reality app that brings the beloved characters from the best-selling picture book "The Gruffalo" to life. Developed by Magic Light Pictures, this app is designed as a pilot project for children's hospitals, providing an interactive and immersive experience for patients and their families.
With Hello Gruffalo, children can embark on an interactive trail, searching for footprint signposts of their favorite characters from the book. Once the footprints are found, the app allows users to bring 3D character animations to life and take photos alongside them. These photos are automatically saved to the device's gallery and can be shared on social media with the hashtag #HelloGruffalo.
The app seamlessly blends technology with the real world, sparking children's imaginations and enabling them to meet and interact with their favorite characters. Developed and animated by Nexus Studios, Hello Gruffalo is available for free with no in-app purchases.
Please note that this app is currently only available to patients and their families in children's hospitals. However, outside of the pilot project, users can still enjoy the augmented reality experience by printing out the 'mouse marker' footprint sign at home and aiming their device at the marker to bring Mouse to life.
